Great food, I mean it, awesome pizzas and everything else was very tasty, however, they took forever to deliver the food. Pleasant server, but the food was coming out too slowly. :-/

I enjoy this place most of the time. It's very close to the hotel so very easy to access without the drive. I enjoy the daily specials and the good selection of tap beers. I also like these mini tours that pop up every so often. I just completed my first! I still can't believe they don't have TV trivia, but they do have several TVs to enjoy sports. Food is just okay as they don't drift far from pizza. Fried pickles are pretty damn good!

Had the pick 3 appetizer. Fried pickles, fried jalapeño ravioli and stuffed breaded meatballs. A must have. All 3 were excellent.

In spite of some negative reviews, we liked our last visit at "Old Chicago". Ok, its not the windy city, itself, and I am not Chicago-Italian , but so what. It was around 8 pm when we arrived. It was full, but people started to leave. We were new to it and had to check the menu lists. On the wall hang old commercials posters and pictures, which suppose to bring you in the right mind set. Two huge flat screen are hanging on the walls, apparently for the sports fans. So it caters to those. There were or are still promotions for the "October fest tour" with German beer offers. Well yeah, its that time now, but they had it already in September ! To talk about drinks: very impressive list of imported and domestic drinks and beers. I am not a beer fan, but was wondering how a Jamaican or Brazilian beer would taste. Also non-alcoholic mixed drinks. They also offered snacks to take for the foot ball fans. Those looked very appetizing to me. Wished I would have known it earlier. The menu lists includes different pizzas, paninis, and other Italian based choices. I took the panini . Also socalled "healthy choices" are there. Its nice if you want to have a good time and eat something too.Dont come in with your little black dress, since space is limited. Since the atmosphere is causal and sometimes loud, its not a good idea to bring small children there. There is a bar in front also. The service was good. We got our meals within 20 minutes. Overall, we were satisfied and will come back again.

Very friendly atmosphere! We've been back many times and have always been pleased. The beer menu is our favorite and love trying the varieties new in our area. Our favorite pizza is the Thai Pie, so much flavor with the peppers, onions, chicken etc. by far the best pizza! Keep up the good work!!!

So unfortunate!!! The food was excellent, but the service was beyond awful! We flew in from CA to surprise out friend for her 40th birthday. This is where she wanted to go to dinner for her special day. Our waitress McKenzie ruined the special night. She had a terrible attitude and was rude. She only had 3 tables, so it was not busy. She most of the time stood at the servers station on her phone. Our friend ordered a rum and diet coke. It was completely flat. She told McKenzie that it wasn't good and that the soda was flat. McKenzie said, "So do you not want it then?" My friend said "No, it is flat and isn't good." McKenzie sarcastically said "I guess you want me to take it off your bill then." My friend said yes and was not offered another drink. Then we told McKenzie that it was our friends 40th birthday. She brought out a cookie and some spoons to share, which was nice, but never once said happy birthday. We were a little surprised that there was no candle or singing by the staff. We weren't expecting a birthday party by the staff, but a candle and at least our server saying happy birthday would have been nice. Too bad as the food was really good. Just shows how service can destroy the whole experience.

When someone tells me that they are from Chicago, I always ask "which part." Most of the time they say they are from one of the surrounding suburbs like Schaumburg, Des Plaines, Elgin, or Aurora... which is miles away from the city of Chicago. That's like saying you're from New York City when you live in a small town in Jersey. The food at Old Chicago falls in this same category, you will find Chicago staples like Italian Beef and deep dish pizza but they are miles away from the true dishes that made the menu options famous. On the plus side the food is still pretty good compared to other chain restaurants and they have a better than average variety of beers (although very few are local craft beers.) There are a lot of better places in town to get a meal, but at the same time if someone asked me to join them for lunch or dinner here I would happily accept.

We had a group of about 15 people celebrating my brother's fiance's college graduation. They rented out the party room at the back and we had lots of good beer and lots of appetizers. The garlic cheesy bread was awesome! My brother and I split a nachos and my wife had a great salad and a cheese less pizza which looked fantastic. I had a slice of the teriyaki pizza that my sister ordered, too sweet for me, but it was nice and cheesy. Lots of laughs with everybody and service was fantastic.

Ive eaten here a few times cuz its near where I live. I have to say yes the food is really good. I actually rarely get pizza here. The other stuff is so good I don't need to get the pizza! Their appetizers and pastas are my favorites. Unfortunately, I rarely go here anymore because I have had too many bad experiences with Anal-retentiveness. One time we got happy hour prices in the dinning room and the next time we went we were told NO you couldnt get happy hour if you sat there. Some consistency please?! Another time, they kicked us out of the bar because our 1 1/2 year old was with us. So ridiculous... a baby is not going to try to sneak drinking booze!! Also another time my 17 year old nephew went into the bar to check a sports score on the tv screen and he was immediately barked at to get out because he was not 21! Come on! He was looking at a TV screen, not trying to order a drink!! Settle down!! yet another time, my friend who was 50 was told he had to go out to his car to get his ID or he couldnt be served. He was clearly over 21. Seriously, whats with all the strict rules?!! People come to a bar to relax not get grilled and told I'm doing something wrong every time! Another thing I must mention is that don't EVER order margaritas! Had them twice and both times they tasted like there was NO booze in them. My friend said his rum & coke was the same... WEAK!!! Weak drinks BEWARE! I would only order beer here. IMO, this bar needs a lot of improvement. A friendlier attitude mainly and some stronger drinks.

This is not what I call "Chicago style," as it is not a deep dish pie, but rather just a really thick, pan crust. A lot of dough, but very tasty! The caprese salad is completely nasty. I love them but this one was horrible! Spinach leaves, rock salt, tasteless mozzarella? Are you kidding me? Very friendly servers, nice big eating areas.

Not as good as the one in Duluth. It always seems to be too cold inside and the food is just alright.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
